ABOUT:
Nestled in NY’s beautiful finger lakes region, Trademarks flower farm is a small-scale specialty cut flower farm that supplies fresh cut flowers direct-to-consumer through farmers markets, a CSA subscription program, and other retail outlets. The farm specializes in early spring flowers grown in high tunnels.
We are looking for an experienced farm manager responsible for keeping the farm running at full production, expansion, and improving our customer experience.
The farm manager must be highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, reliable, and an excellent communicator. A successful candidate will have experience with small to medium-scale production, have great prioritization skills, and have a passion for small-scale farming. There is potential for growth and future promotions.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The farm manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day farm operations, order fulfillment, and enhancing customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Farm operations and production
Manage farm staff
Execute the crop plan seamlessly
Management and execution of all aspects of crop production including: soil preparation, seeding, propagation, planting, harvesting, soil health, pest/disease control, and water/irrigation systems.
Oversee whole farm maintenance and enhancement
Maintain a clean, organized and functional workspace - including tools and equipment
Adhere to high-standards for post-harvest handling
Properly process, package, and distribute flowers to ensure high quality and freshness
Follow instructions and perform all duties requested by your manager, subject to reasonable accommodation and within the scope of the position
Staff and resource management
Hire, train, and manage farm staff and seasonal workers
Oversee the use and maintenance of farm equipment, tools, and facilities
Create and manage the farm's operational budget, ensuring efficiency and sustainability
Track and meet farm revenue and profit sales targets, goals, and other key performance indicators
Assist with placing seed and stock orders
Manage and order supplies and inventory as needed
Customer success
Track customer success and other key performance indicators (KPIs)
Manage and improve customer retention, referral, and loyalty programs
Communicate with customers and potential customers
Marketing and Administrative
Perform routine marketing tasks (such as executing email marketing campaigns)
Execute sales launches in coordination with the marketing and sales team
Perform routine website updates
Complete routine administrative tasks
Track and meet sales key performance indicators
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have:
Minimum 1 year employee management experience
Minimum 2 years experience managing day to day farm operations
Minimum 3 years farm production experience - in vegetable, flowers, or a similar agricultural industry
Must live within 15 minutes or an acceptable driving distance to the farm (onsite housing opportunity also available)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Commensurate with experience and/or living accommodations.
Eligible for retirement plan benefits after 2 years of employment
SCHEDULE
Full time. Some evening and weekend hours are necessary.

Experience operating heavy machinery and/or farm equipment (tractor, skid steer, etc.)
