Dahlia Tuber Orders - FAQ
When will I receive my order?
All orders will be shipped in Mid-late April, after risk of frost. Tubers cannot be shipped if there is a chance of freezing because the tubers may be destroyed by the cold. All orders will ship via USPS. Please add hello@trademarksflowers.com to your email contact list so notifications don’t end up in your spam or promotions folder. Due to export restrictions, shipping is only available within the US.
How will My order be shipped?
All orders will ship via USPS. Due to limitations of our e-commerce site and shipping service provider, you will receive a tracking number via email for your order(s) when we print the shipping label, NOT when it is shipped. To increase efficiency, we batch print all shipping labels on the same day, however, it takes us several weeks to pack and ship all of the orders. So if you don't see your order moving along, it just means that we haven't packed it yet. All orders are shipped on the same day they are packed. Check your spam/promotions tabs for emails from us.
Can I pick up my tubers locally?
For 2023: Local pick up is available for ONE DAY ONLY on Sunday, April 30th, 2023 at the Brighton Farmers Market (1150 Winton Road, Rochester NY) between 9am-1pm. Please do not choose this option at checkout if you are unable to pick up your tubers at that time. If you do not pick up on the 30th, you will be charged for shipping.
How are the dahlia tubers sold?
Tubers are sold as divisions, not clumps. All tubers sold are guaranteed to have one viable eye and will be true to type. Please note that tuber size can vary vastly, dependent on variety type (some are huge, some are small- all will produce beautifully if they have a viable eye).
I don’t see an eye on the tuber I received?
Tubers are stored dormant in cold storage until shipping, therefore you may receive tubers that are still in dormancy and have not yet sprouted or started to show eyes yet. Some varieties “wake up” earlier than others, so eyes are more easily visible on some, and less visible on others.

Can I make changes to my order once it is placed?
No. No changes can be made to orders once they are placed. If you happen to place multiple orders, we will do our best to combine them together, but due to the large volume of orders we expect to ship, we cannot guarantee this. Please add your previous order #’s to the comment section at checkout to help us facilitate combination of orders.
What do I do when I receive my order?
Unbox and inspect your order IMMEDIATELY. If there is a discrepancy, please email a photo of your order and your packing slip (including the packer initials) to hello@trademarksflowers.com within 24 hours of receipt. Please read our growing dahlias guide and follow the instructions until you are ready to plant. All tubers are guaranteed to have a viable eye and be true to type.
What Happens if I am not satisfied with my order?
Open your order and the bags of tubers immediately upon receiving them. All tubers are guaranteed to have a viable eye and be true to type. If you feel you received unsatisfactory tubers, please contact us within 24 hours. If you wait longer than 1 week after receiving your tubers, we cannot be held responsible for their condition. Trademarks Flower Farm will not be held responsible for tuber failure if you fail to follow the growing instructions, nor will Trademarks Flower Farm be held responsible for poor performance, loss, or damage due to inclement weather, improperly handled environmental pests, or disease issues in your garden or on your farm. Please notify us if your tubers fail to sprout within 8 weeks.
My tubers aren’t sprouting, what should i do?
Some varieties start to sprout immediately, while others can take up to 8 weeks to show signs of growth. Be patient while giving them the proper growing conditions.
What happens If I don’t see a viable eye on my tuber?
Please note that most tubers may still be dormant when shipped, which can make eyes impossible or very difficult to see. Tubers should “wake up” and start to sprout within 8 weeks, as long as they are given the proper growing conditions. All tubers are guaranteed to have at least one viable eye.
How should I store my tubers until planting them outdoors?
